As a club we run several races and competitions throughout the year:-
No Walk in the Park 5k
This is our monthly, fast 5k race, held on the first Saturday of each month, in the beautiful Queens Park, Chesterfield.
Meet at Queens Park Pavilion, 08:45.

Summer Series 5k
Our Summer Series is a series of four 5K runs, taking place in the Summer on our No Walk in the Park course and with beers at the end!
May to August on set Fridays at 19:30. (Check the club calendar)
There are prizes for age groups and average times over at least three events to qualify.
Bolsover 10K | 8/12/24
This is our flagship race of the year, dating back to 1986, where it started life as the 'Coalite 10K', just after NDRC was formed. The routes have varied over the years and it has been a staple in our running club calendar every year, apart from during Covid.
This year, we've got an exciting move, with the course starting and ending at Bolsover Castle. Apart from being a stunning local landmark, clearly seen from all around, it's a fantastic opportunity for us to form a unique partnership with English Heritage that we hope to continue for many years. Our community partnerships are the backbone of our club.
The route, over a 10K distance, is largely rural and flat(ish) - well, in Derbyshire standards! - with net downhill on the way out and a corresponding climb on the way back in. See Map
We raise over £5000 a year for local causes, from this run, and is a fantastic race much coveted by other clubs around us, thanks to great team spirit and atmosphere on the day and a fast, interesting course.
Finishers have an option to buy a fabulous race shirt and we also hope to include finisher medals - TBC.

Twigg Handicap | June
Was held June 18, 2024 on a particularly biblically wet Tuesday night!
This is our annual 10k handicap race run from Holmebrook Valley Park through Linacre and back.
It gives the opportunity for all of our runners to compete together - anyone can win it!
A buffet is laid on after the event at a local pub where the Twigg Trophy is awarded.

Community 5K
In partnership with Cannon Events, this is one of our member only events, which we run a fast 5K and raise money for charity as we go.
It's popular because it is largely downhill and is a handicapped race with a staggered start, depending on your 5K pace.
We meet at Chester's Den at the Chesterfield football stadium and car share to the race start in Sheepbridge. Then race back.
This fun Summer social run raised over £500 for charity in 2023. It costs members just £2 on the day.
