Our ParkRun and No Walk in the Park (NWIP) League is open to every club member of NDRC.
It works by taking your ParkRun performance (either a national Park Run or one of our NWIP races) over the months, and giving it a score based on your age and your time. (This is known as giving it an age graded percentage) Those scores then put you into our League.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to take part – it’s for all abilities. This isn’t an elite league. Nor is it about been the fastest on the clock. Consistency is key.
The League currently has over 200 runners taking part. Each month, three runners get promoted and relegated from the leagues. The one watch out is you must post at least one score per month, otherwise you’ll receive a 0%.
At the end of December, the final positions are taken and all the runners who finish in the Gold, Silver and Bronze leagues will receive an award at the NDRC Annual Awards Night.
Good Luck!
The results will be taken from the ParkRun age graded percentage or worked out using the Howard Grubb USATF MLDR Road age-grading calculator 2020 for the NWIP races.
No other 5km races count in this league – including our own Community 5km.
If you’re promoted at the end of December, you will move up a league for your final position.
New members always start from the lowest division.
If a member joins mid year, they will receive a 0% for those months missed prior to joining. This is to help the management of the league. (In 2022, we trialled all new members been exempt from 0% scores prior to joining but it creates a huge amount of additional work and makes it quite difficult to organise.)
